WorkHealth website

WorkHealth is a five-year program aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of Victorian workers. We rebuilt their website to effectively promote the WorkHealth initiative and allow Victorian businesses to apply for WorkHealth checks and grants online.

Background

The state government agency responsible for WorkHealth, WorkSafe Victoria (WorkSafe), wanted to rebuild its website. The existing website did not effectively explain WorkHealth’s programs or clearly articulate which programs employers could access – and it was even harder to find out where programs are offered or how to apply for them.

For WorkHealth to stand out against commercial, not for profit and government websites covering topics related to health and wellbeing, WorkSafe needed the new website structure and content to be really clear about what WorkHealth is here to do and make it easy for Victorian businesses to sign up online for what it offers – heath checks and grants.

The Solution

Hyro was engaged not only for its knowledge and technical experience with the IBM Lotus Web Content Management (WCM) system, but also for its ability to provide customer experience and visual design expertise.

Having initially completed a proof of concept, Hyro conducted workshops with WorkSafe to define the business requirements and with real-life users to determine their needs, preferences and limitations. Hyro analysed these requirements and developed the information architecture, structured page components into wireframes and created visual design elements. The website was then built and implemented by Hyro’s experienced WCM Product Specialists.

Hyro’s innovative design process enabled real life users and WorkSafe to view and assess the site throughout key stages in the project, so feedback could be easily incorporated into the final solution – which was implemented ahead of schedule and under budget.

The Outcome

WorkSafe now has a streamlined WorkHealth website incorporating a new information architecture, fresh look-and-feel and relevant content – making it easier for users to find information faster.

The structure of the website better supports the objectives of WorkHealth by delivering tools and resources that will be frequently accessed by employers and workers throughout Victoria. WorkHealth staff have also been pleased with the new website, reporting that the easier to use environment has delivered productivity gains.

Stephen Pask, eMedia Manager, WorkSafe Victoria said:

“One measure of success for the website has been the changing nature of calls to the support centre. They are no longer queries about navigating the website to find resources – reflecting an easier to use web environment for the public.”
